Ialuvit is formulated in a hypotonic solution to counterbalance the possible hyperosmolarity of the tear film and, thanks to its particular saline composition, restores and maintains at physiological levels the concentrations of important ions, such as sodium, potassium, and magnesium, essential for the well-being of the ocular surface.
