Opticol GL Ophthalmic Solution MD is a viscous ophthalmic solution consisting of the sodium salt of hyaluronic acid at 0.30%, indicated as a transparent tear substitute.
Hyaluronic acid is part of the composition of numerous tissues in the human body. It has the ability to adhere to the mucosa of the ocular surface, protecting, moistening, and lubricating it. Due to its mucoadhesive characteristics, it remains on the eye surface for a long period of time and stabilizes the tear film.
It protects, hydrates, and lubricates the ocular surface, ensuring prolonged relief from discomfort caused by:
- Mechanical stress: during and after the use of contact lenses or during ophthalmic surgeries or diagnostic procedures;
- Environmental stress conditions, caused for example, by air conditioning, wind, cold, dryness, or air pollution caused, for example, by cigarette smoke;
- Visual fatigue caused by the use of computers, microscopes, or during prolonged use of vehicles.
